SPRING / SUMMER 2018
For Spring 2018, Anna was inspired by several noteworthy and recent exhibitions. She saw “The Summer of Love Experience” at the de Young Museum in San Francisco, and “Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains”, plus “You Say You Want a Revolution? Records and Rebels 1966-1970” (both at the Victoria & Albert Museum), and the dazzling “Alma-Tadema: At Home in Antiquity” show at the Leighton House, in London.
But most of all, by the extraordinary exhibit, “Counter-Couture: Handmade Fashion in an American Counterculture” at The Museum of Arts & Design in NYC, which showcased the youthful “ethos of a generation who fought for change by sewing, embroidering, quilting, patch-working, and tie-dyeing their identity. Putting the handmade at the center of their daily revolution…” (text taken from the MAD Museum). In Anna's words, her collection "celebrates these notions of creativity, community, optimism, freedom, and infinite possibilities."
